Welcome to Ayurvedic Baby Massage and Postnatal Yoga

After childbirth, you are warmly invited to Samana Yoga Center for our special classes in Ayurvedic baby massage. These sessions offer a relaxed, warm, and loving way to connect with your baby. Baby massage stimulates your little one’s senses, helping them relax more, sleep better, and reduce tummy cramps. It provides not only physical benefits for your baby but also a moment of rest and self-care for you as a mother.
During the classes, you will receive practical tips on soothing tummy cramps, promoting good sleep, and breastfeeding. After the baby massage, we gently put the little ones to sleep and the mothers will engage in Postnatal Yoga. The exercises focus on strengthening the pelvic floor, lower back, abdominal muscles, legs, and relaxing shoulders and neck.
About Baby Massage and Postnatal Yoga
A moment of deep connection for mother and baby
Our sessions start with a soothing half-hour baby massage. Afterwards, there’s time to feed your baby and place them on a mat for some playful or calming time. Then, mothers practice yoga to strengthen and balance their own bodies. It’s an enriching experience for both you and your baby.
Baby Massage: Reduce stress and strengthen the bond
Massage is wonderful for babies—it helps them relax, stimulates their awareness, and promotes their overall development. After a massage, your baby produces less cortisol, the stress hormone, and more oxytocin, the “love hormone,” which strengthens feelings of bonding. Sanne will guide you in applying the Ayurvedic Shantalamassage, where you touch your baby’s entire body, deepening your connection.
Safety through touch
Touch is the most developed sense in a newborn. Through baby massage, you give your baby a fundamental sense of safety, which is essential for healthy physical and emotional development. This massage is a natural continuation of the contact moments you had with your baby during pregnancy, creating a loving environment of trust. Baby massage is a timeless tradition that promotes your baby’s health, reduces stress, and helps them sleep better.
Postnatal Yoga: Recover at your own pace
After childbirth, it’s important to restore your body in a safe and loving way. Postnatal Yoga focuses on the important areas of your body that need extra attention after giving birth: your pelvic floor, lower back, and abdominal muscles. We work gently and progressively to make your body stronger, even if you’ve had a cesarean section.
Take good care of yourself during this special time
After birth, it’s important to take care of yourself, even though the focus is often on your baby. Postnatal yoga helps you recover physically in a safe and balanced way. You’ll learn healthy and natural postures for breastfeeding, sitting, and walking, preventing discomfort and injuries. The yoga classes give you energy and help you address the physical changes after childbirth.
In the classes, we will explore the best postures for feeding and carrying your baby. This allows you to relax your muscles while they become stronger and your body comes back into balance.
