People live in social systems. Psychological research shows the systems we live in are of great influence on our life. Most of it we don’t notice consciously. We derive energy and support from the systems around us, but sometimes it hampers you. Because you don’t know how people around you influence yourself, you can’t always change things for the better.
Constellations are ways to look and feel these influences.
Do you have patterns of behavior that keep coming back although they have a negative impact on you? Do you have issues that keep coming back and would you like to know where they come from?
Do you have a difficult decision to make? Does it feel like your energy is blocked, physical pains keep coming back and docters can’t help? A constellation session might help clarify and support you.
The get-to-know session in November is for people who never experienced a constellation and want to see how it works. The intensive sessions are meant to really work on your own theme.
Your family and you form a system with hidden pattern, histories and rules. You are part of your family system. You haven’t chosen your family, you just are part of the family system from the day you were born. Your work environment, place you live, your social class are also systems you live in. Within each of these systems you develop patterns of behaving and thinking, physical and emotional behavior. There are three dynamic aspects in each situation:
Each person, every element of the system has a place in the system. Shutting someone out, forgetting a member of the group, showing contempt of even ignoring someone can cause problem in the system en de persons in the system.
There is an order between the persons or elements of the system. If the orders is disputed or disrupted, this can be the cause of trouble.
In each system the giving and taking must be in a healthy balance. If one gives too much or too little, the system is out of balance.
We start with some physical exercises to warm up.
Then we focus on one question from a person in the group. This person picks people to represent elements or persons from the system we focus on. You place the representatives in the space. The representatives will feel the unconscious dynamics of the system involved. They will have thoughts and emotions and will be able to express these. The representatives experience some of the family dynamics and will be able to react and inform us. Slowly we see how the natural order of the system could be restored or become more balanced.
The effect of a constellation session is often long lasting and deep.
The process is interesting, not only for the person who brings forward an issue. The representatives themselves have interesting experiences as well. They really feel part of the system and experience feelings and thoughts of the person they represent. You don’t need to have any special knowledge, experience or even belief this will work.
To be a representative is a special experience well worth while that often gives you new insight in your own issues.
Experiencing a constellation you initiated brings you new insights. The process is often deeply moving and can have a profound effect.
Bring your issue for a family constellation at the intensive session:
To prepare for the intensive session you fill out a questionnaire about your family system and the question you may want to ask. You can also focus on your job situation.
When your questions will be a constellation we will first have a short conversation to clarify your question. Your question doesn’t have to be fully prepared when you come to the session.
