Japanese Yoga according to the seasons

Friday 5 April at 19:30-Friday 12 July at 21:00

What will the world look like if people live more in balance with nature?

In 2024, yoga teacher Mariska Gunsing will start another monthly workshop series focusing on this question. She believes that if we rekindle our connection with Nature (and therefore also with ourselves), we collectively feel more intrinsic motivation to take good care of her and ourselves. Mariska even dares to say that we can alleviate many major contemporary problems – such as depression, burnout, and the climate crisis – by rediscovering our connection with Nature.

The workshops follow Nature’s annual energy cycle, through practical exercises from the Chinese/Japanese yoga form Dō-in and theory inspired by the book ‘Living and Working in the Rhythm of the Seasons’, by Jaap Voigt.

In which month is it best to develop new ideas? And when is the best time to bring it out? When is evaluation important? And how can you support this every month within your yoga practice?

The workshops are mostly practical combined with a bit of theory. With each workshop, you will receive an online video, and some theory sent via email so that you can practice at home as often as you want and read the theoretical part – also useful if you cannot participate in the studio.
